Counterpoint: The Blahaj moderation team is made up of volunteers doing their best to build a community that is shielded from a never-ending stream of [I so don't want to know]. Of course they aren't perfect but if yall are this unhappy with them and their work, yall might be happier on yall's own server that yall run independently while still interacting with whomever yall choose. Federation is great like that.

Ideally, an accusation should be accompanied by proof in the same post, not just "now hunt it down". And if the accusation is true, sounds rather weird to make it on a platform from the same network as the Matrix group, and using an account from that same platform.

that's not at all my experience btw. the mods are 100% doing as well a job as anyone could. i'm thankful for what they're doing and especially jorunn is typically super explanatory for why she acted the way she does.

Someone feeling unsafe or uncomfortable is not sufficient evidence to claim that someone isn’t inclusive. For that you need to present concrete evidence of a consistent pattern of behaviors that are of some degree of seriousness.

And while I have minor criticism of the moderation (mostly w.r.t. some servers not being blocked, when they should be, though this seems more like an oversight than intention), I have always found Ada to be very responsive, fair, and understanding, when I sent her a DM about an issue.

Now, you are of course free to disagree and to dislike her moderation-policies, in which case you are free to change servers. This is fedi, so there is nothing stopping you from staying in contact with your friends or even hang out in Lemmy communities here. The primary reason to choose a Fedi server is the moderation team and if you don’t like it, that’s okay, choose another one.

That said, you give of the vibes of one of those extremely self-centered people that have been known to destroy progressive spaces by abusing progressive or therapy-language to make everyone miserable. I don’t know you well enough to want to judge you on that (because I try to make those decisions based on evidence, not based on feelings, as you want us to do in your criticism of the mods), but you may want to reflect on that…

This is the "dragon fucker" drama all over again

Gonna preface this by saying that we're plural and actually prefer being called y'all. We're from Texas and are blessed with a plural second person pronoun to use.

With that said.

We don't care if someone calls us "you." Because they're still talking to us after finding out we're plural. They're not freaking out and asking which one of us is the violent one or the real one. And they're not calling us "schitzo" or "faker" or any of other shit that systems, particularly endogenic systems such as we, get called. We're not being harassed or outed or doxxed, or told that we're ableist just for existing. We're getting called a non-derogatory pronoun that is consistent with what we are, even if it isn't what we prefer.

We're not demanding that interaction with us be contingent upon following a complex set of requirements.

Because it's usually easier to just block someone like that. Which means all someone with arcane dni requirements gets in their inbox is hostility from people who don't care about the novella-length manual.
