It's worse than even what others have said. There are bits set in inodes other than the rwx for owner, group and other. Most notably when it hits /dev it will completely fuck up your devices.

Well one of the things is you can no longer sudo, since it checks the permissions on the sudors file. Good news is you can now edit the shadow file and set a new root password.

I did that with an "rm - rf" once. It was back in the olden days where we mounted all systems root via nfs. Oh abd nfs use to transfer root privileges.

Took out 1.5 machines before I thought, this is taking a while.
