American workers historically have understood clearly that their antagonist is the capitalist class, who uses the hollow abstraction of "the economy", framed as an end in itself, to distract from its selfish pursuit of private accumulation.

The news always does this.

News isn't for journalism anymore. It's for those little commercial breaks. And those commercial breaks are paid for by companies. You can thank the early 90s with 24-hour news channels.

To avoid angering those who buy ads, they're going to ensure their reporting always has a more "neutered approach" by talking about how bad the future will look thanks to those striking workers.

Then they'll play a bit of lip service to the real story, just enough to mildly appeal to both sides.

I’m mostly listen to news reporting from NewsWire sources like Reuters and AP (neutral with no commentary), but when I do dip into MSM news sources, such as MSNBC, they legitimately sound shook. Like… they are “supportive” yet kinda sound a bit frightened.
