Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.
Rexxit!!! Dig the name. It’s the era of lemmingration!
Kinda getting ahead of myself here but if this place comes under attack (whether that's in the form of a bot invasion, denial of service, etc.), we could call it the siege of Lemmingrad.
Omg! I wish to participate on the front lines of this epic battle! I will be there!
Haha! It's a lot less impressive than it seems, honestly. I'm originally from the US but spent most of my life bouncing back and forth between the states and different parts of the EU. I can pretty much guarantee you that if you live 3-4 years in a foreign country, you'll learn the language. Repeat that five times and voila!
Glad to see Lemmy finally taking off. I'm honestly scared the Reddit admins will buckle. This is where everyone should be. We can make this place as great as Reddit and it will be even better due to the decentralized nature of the network.
I have been wanting a nice place on the internet with lots of users but still untouched by big companies. Lemmy came to answer my wish (:
This is actually a genius idea on how to continue the protests after the 14th. Even if the blackout won't last longer content creators should post content increasingly elswhere or additionally to reddit somewhere else and increase the viability of a replacement.
Funny enough, you're one of the content creators by commenting! The comments and discussions were my favorite part of reddit and we're bringing the comments with us over here to Lemmy!
It would mean more users in here so is a fantastic idea, too bad I don't know how to create bots.
Same here, I'm liking it here so far
Same. I've seen other people say it, but this system of distributed, federated social networks feels like the real next generation internet. It reminds me of old school BBS and the irc servers I used to hang out on. It's definitely a better solution than letting one company run everything.
I nuked my accounts at reddit just before the strike as a final move out of frustration. It was tough not knowing what the next day was going to look like. The people and the communities mean the world to me no matter the size and I am forever grateful of the hard work that was put in over there. I look forward to watching things grow over here and hope the initial learning curve is not too challenging for everyone and that it inspires more development than reddit ever did.
To be honest I will prefer Lemmy to not have awards.
@Veritrax Anything that wakes people up to neoliberalism eating everything of value.

so true :) I was explaining my missus about the blackout and she thought that meant I will have more time(Reddit is top of my screen time) that I can use to do other things, little did she know that I’m going to be wasting it on Lemmy lol.
