I haven't had my hair professionally cut since 2020. I used covid as an excuse to get through the mullet phase and now I just keep it tied back and cut it myself when it gets too long to sleep comfortably with.

I am actually! (am a guy)

I always got it cut around the awkward fase. My hair is quite robust and curly so when I grow it out I always look like a crazy professor after a month or 2.

I got a keratine treatment to relax it for a few months, so it is more manageable.

I am blessed with thick, coarse hair so I am very excited to see how it will look when it is (eventually) longer than shoulder length.

My last haircut was around the beginning of december 2022 so I hope to see some nice results around december this year.

Yes, but mostly out of laziness. 😬 Then I realized I was saving like $40-50 a month on haircuts and trims. You could say I'm "growing my savings".

(I'll see myself out)

I have hair down to my waist (f). Seems to be its terminal length as I don’t really cut it. I like long hair on men too

South Asian male here: I’ve tried, but my hair just grows out like an afro which makes me look like im homeless or something lol. I do think neck length hair looks cool tho.

Asian male here as well. Couldn’t do it 10 years ago as I end up like bat wings around my ears. Now my hair is not as thick and it’s working out a lot better.

Do beards count? Like many men, I decided to stop shaving during Covigeddon and discovered that a big, bushy beard suits me and decided to keep it.

I’m planning on moving onto a sailing boat within the next couple of years, I think I’ll celebrate the occasion by growing my hair out about shoulder length. Never had it properly long before, makes sense to do all my drastic changes in one go!

I've been growing out my hair since June 2020. It's reached a point where I feel like fuck it imma just cut it.But knowing that, this is the longest my hair has ever been and every day I keep it is a new record, motivates me to keep it.

How much longer will I keep it ? I have no clue

I did it a couple of years ago, but I didn't take care of my hair at all, so it looked like shit. Seriously if you want to do this, look up some advice on how to treat your hair so that it doesn't look like an old mop.
Eventually I decided to cut it again because it was too much of a hassle, but I'm glad I had the experience.

Anyway, good luck :D

I used to have shoulder length hair (I'm a guy). I cut it short a few years ago now, but I'm considering growing it out again!

Hi yes I'm growing out my hair :) I'm trying to present more fem (at times) and this is a great way to accomplish that because I also really wanted to try having long(er) hair for the first time.

I started at the end of 2022 (my last haircut was in November) and I've been growing it since then. I got kind of annoyed by there being no shape to my hair anymore last month so I did end up going to the hairdresser mostly to style it (ofc cutting it makes it a little shorter). It's kind of medium long now, like 5-10cm away from my shoulders still.

I'll keep on growing it because I like it a lot and I've gotten very positive responses from friends as well which is super nice!!

I'm a cis guy and I started growing out my hair in 2019. I've trimmed it a few times, but it's currently at my middle back, but will soon be at my middle-lower back. I'm pretty happy with it and don't imagine me ever going shorter than shoulder length again.

I'm trying to grow mine out, which is hard because it looks a bit messy. I have trouble finding a barber who can help shape it (it's curly, so you really gotta find a good one for a good result) without cutting it really short. Now the hard part is finding products and techniques to style it. I'm so used to typical men's hair routine of like 3 in 1 shampoo, so I've had to do a lot of research because I actually need to put effort into how I wash, dry, and style it.

I used to have long-ish hair. I shaved it all on the 1st of October when I started my PhD. Will not cut it until I'm done with my studies šŸ˜Ž

Right now, it's getting kinda long, can't wait to have long hair again.

I have been letting my hair grow out. It looks and feels better even if my hair keeps getting in my eyes.

Caucasian male here: it's past my shoulders now, roughly between my shoulder blades, from pretty short at the start of COVID. I credit my success to not visiting a hairdresser for a couple years and just brushing it daily.

There's definitely an awkward stage that appears at a certain point, but once you can toss it into a ponytail it gets easier.

I'm trying to grow my hair but rip its type 4a/4b so I'll be growing it forever before it gets to shoulder length. And I look really bad with short hair so I just permanently look awful.

I have dreads down to my knees and a long beard. Sort of a "Charles Manson gone bad" look. (I did get called Rasputin by someone on the street once. Ha ha.)

The best argument for dreadlocks is kittens. Having kittens climbing your hair is fun.

I hear you on the malicious haridressers! Finally found a barber that had previously had his own long hair and was willing to share tips on how to take care of long hair, rather than just cutting mine shorter than requested. Brushing daily with a good brush, conditioning, make a huge difference.
