After 12 years and over 900K Karma, I got permanently banned for repeating an opinion that I've posted many times over the past decade. Then Trump gets elected, and the exact same opinion gets me a permaban.

Now I'm hearing that they are banning people for UPVOTES! I wondered why Reddit had decided to throw in with the Nazis, and I this week I see in the news that Ohanion wants to buy TikTok. The new owner of TikTok will be personally chosen by HitlerPig, so Zuckerfuck has been kissing up, and now Ohanion wants in on it. HitlerPig will award it to whomever kisses his ass and pays him the most.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that the RDDT stock price has dropped 40% in the last month, and it's not surprising. That site is a sinking ship.

Yep, I got a frikking lifetime IP ban a few months back for saying "Fuck Elon Musk all the way to hell" in r/politics - apparently some fanboy decided that was "inciting violence". Fuck Reddit, happy to be part of Lemmy.

Well... that's just going to be most American sites going forward. That's why ultimately platforms like Lemmy are so important. What a lot of people here in the States don't realize is that this is a war on information.

I've gotten permabans on multiple subs and also overall bans from reddit admin itself. Various reasons like pro-luigi comments, anti-trump comments, anti-israeli comments, pro-ukraine comments. Reddit is a propaganda platform now.

To be fair, there's about a fifty-fifty chance that a subreddit, or lemmy community for that matter, called "supressed news" is going to be filled loonies, and those guys could spend all day masturbating to the though of violently dismantling the power of the World Economic Forum.

Mods didn't care for my thoughts on Luigi and Trump/Musk (they're joined at the hip AFAIC, except Trump is definately the bottom, despite his diaper issues), and the madness of MAGA. I received an IP ban for sharing the public list of DOGE employees, 11 minutes into my 10 year cake day.

Forget pointing out the genocide of Palestinians, there was a time where you would even get banned from worldnews for calling cryptoscams confidence games. After Trump's first term and the T_D disaster, the conversation seemed to shift from that failed insurgency (at the time) to a reddit spearled meme stock economic destabilization attempts. Reddit is subjecting yourself to be manipulated for the opportunity to participate in some communities, and they know it.

I was still using it for researching stuff (mostly via the Kagi forum search) - but it’s the only website that does not work with MullvadVPN on. Getting tired of having to deactivate it. By now Mastodon and Lemmy easily satisfy my needs for tech news/discussions.

I've stopped fighting for my shadow-banned account on Reddit. It's a month old now, they've been ignoring it. And for weeks I've only checked reddit but never bothered logging in and never bother trying to fight anymore. I've been on Reddit as far back as, I want to say, 2012? And I've been banned over 30+ times under many alts, getting into fights with some of the dumbest fuckers on Reddit possible. But there also were times where I had tried partaking in positive manners, but the Reddit ecosystem just wasn't having it with people like that.

I've been seeing so many honest people make innocent posts and just getting fucked with. And those people are finding themselves banned as well, not just me. So it's just simply not worth it anymore trying with a system like that, that's been building itself into it's own authoritarian atmosphere.

Its truly nuts over there. I have now had 5 different accounts perma banned and im tired of evading their fingerprinting just to bypass each pan for similar comments. Like nothing that the general public would find controversial even remotely.

Every subreddit that is banned needs to be recreated on Lemmy out of principle. Unless it's gonna get our guy sued.

It's a real shame. There is a treasure trove of information on there for niche topics, and years of researching problems and questions etc. It really sucks that it's gotten to this point.

Have you all read 1984? First they will make thing illegal. Then they will hide away what is illegal. After that someone will learn something was illegal. Once they are found out, that illegal thing will be completely changed so there is no evidence anything was illegal to begin with.

Like many, I got kicked out of Reddit. Mainly because Russian, Chonese or religious trolls with a thin skin, but recently I think cause they don't like too much anti-systemic statements.

Yeah, I got a 7-day ban for 'encouraging violence', when all I said was that Luigi didn't deserve to go to jail for what he did. I appealed, my account was restored, but not before being (as of now, I literally just noticed this) permanently-banned for 'multiple, repeated violations of Reddit's Content Policy on your other account(s).' I have had only one account on Reddit for 14 years, I don't even make throwaways, so it seems like they're really scraping for excuses. What's hilarious is that my account was reinstated 3 hours ago from the appeal for teh temp-ban, but the perma-ban came 11 hours ago, so they perma-banned me then lifted the temp-ban. Thanks, guys. :P I'm going to appeal it just to see what their response is, but fuck 'em.
