Senator Jon Husted can't leave D.C. to testify in public corruption trial in Ohio due to the "Iran war," defense attorneys said. He did find time to return to Ohio to attend a fundraiser

No, that’s the ruling class. They are not subject to laws.
So, guillotine?
Funny thing is, this whole democracy thing was supposed to have been a compromise so we didn’t have royals get their heads chopped off so frequently.
I like how you think.
It’s a federal crime to prevent a congressperson from conducting their duties, madly.
Simple, have them arrested and delivered to the Ohio trial. That way you are not preventing them from conducting their duties but actually helping perform two (obeying the arrest and testifying at the court), so there's no foul.
As that prevents him from voting in the house expect federal agents to forcibly remove him from custody.
Have him mail his vote. Or hve him attend the voting in cuffs.
Come on, am I expected to do your whole homework? What side are you even on?
WTF does an ohio senator have to do with the iran war?
Man, I love reporters like this. Not even a comment either way on the quality of this specific reporting, but the first-person, openly adversarial but not hostile, “the people want to know” style of reporting is what we need more of. And it is fast disappearing with the general Bezos-Ization of news in America.
So.....
It's a war again?
We didn't even vote Jon Husted in as Senator. JD Vance won that seat and left it to be Trump's VP. Our governor appointed his lieutenant governor Husted to Vance's seat. Then, he replaced the lieutenant governor with a football coach.
Clown ass state. So glad to be gone. Out west my votes actually matter
I was told it wasn't a war because that would require congressional approval
Technically, legally I think that's true. Functionally, Vietnam lasted 20 years, cost billions of dollars, the lives of 58k Americans, and millions of Vietnamese lives but was never a declared war.
Judge (if they have a spine): He voted down a resolution to limit the Presidents war powers. Clearly he's abdicating his role in the war. See you Monday!
Ah yes, Schrödinger’s war.
It’s both a war, and a non-war “military operation,” depending upon what’s most convenient for the Republicans.
Politician priorities are plain.
Judges need to stop with the warnings and just start locking these disingenuous bastards up straight away.
Uh oh, corruption?? In a state?!?! We better send ICE down there pronto.
Well, now that he's abdicated his congressional responsibilities of holding war powers (along with purse strings), isn't he all done with war involvement? Should have plenty of time
Y'all already voted to let Trump do whatever he wants, so what are you needed in DC for? Also you have 99 coworkers who can get the job done
This is the entire reason they hitched their wagon to fascism. Protection for those in power and persecution for those who are not.
