Kevin O'Leary and Fox News sued over claims that data center critics had China ties

3 months ago by spaghettiwestern to c/news

Kevin O'Leary went on several news programs, including Fox News, and accused some critics of his Stratos data center project of being foreign agents.

Back in May, "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary made a series of media appearances accusing some vocal opponents of his data center plans in Box Elder County, Utah, of being foreign-backed agents.

Now, Mr. Wonderful is being sued for defamation.

"Recently I appeared on various news programs and would like to clarify that I have no evidence that Alliance for a Better Utah, Elevate Strategies, Gabrielle Finlayson, Taylor Knuth or Josh Kanter are funded by China or the Chinese Communist Party," [OLeary] wrote in an Instagram post from June 25.

Claiming opponents are Chinese agents in at least 10 media appearances is going to make for some interesting court arguments by this idiot.

In fact, when we looked deeply into it, we learned that nearly everybody who opposed datacenters had electronic transmitting devices on their person that were at least partially manufactured in China.

You wouldn't believe the power these things have...I'm telling you man they can record 4k video and upload it immediately to the cloud or store several hours locally.

They have use some sort of proprietary, cell-based RF technology. In optimal conditions these things are cable of over a billion bits of encrypted data per second.

And they are small. Like they can just slip right into their pant pocket, or jacket pocket. I've seen some people even using holsters (sometimes even military-spec holsters) to secure these things to their hip or arm, just like a gun.

The reason you can tell Ai and data centers are a bullshit grift of a bubble is because this asshole is selling them.

Keep the ball rolling, if Fox News were sued every time they said something categorically false there would be dozens of lawsuits every day.

That not even rounding error compared to the people he killed by denying and politicizing COVID. Trump is responsible for literally hundreds of thousands of deaths that would not have happened if Biden had won. Plus we've got all the people murdered by ICE. And now he's killing even more Americans in Iran, not to mention the Iranians who are needlessly dying.

There are rumors of people being murdered in the Epstein files. If they are ever released we may find out he murdered even more with his own hands.

Trump is the Death President.

I wish someone would sew Kein O'Leary into a beanbag chair and toss him into the hudson.

Ideally, with an amphetamine-crazed wolverine, assuming the wolvering could chew its way out of the beanbag and make it to safety once it's rampaged on O'Leary. I mean, I don't want to be cruel to a wolverine.
