it started from a broken search bar then when I tried to fix it something else broke, then it became the most annoying whack a mole game of all time so I removed everything and start from scratch.
after the recent firerfox update it pretty much destroyed my css, now I spent 10 hours created the squarest and ugliest firefox css known to man just to spite rounded corner design

I agree, I disabled them in about:config. I believe the variable is browser.nova.enabled.
I genuinely thought I had opened Chrome somehow the other day when this update came out for me. It's so dumb.
That's the linux spirit
Why? Because fuck Microsoft, that's why.
buttons and menus are still rounded I wanted everything square for the colors that's just place holders later I will make it match my desktop theme, plus with my own CSS I can make everything use only one row which is save a lot of space
I've done similar when designing/troubleshooting CSS - obnoxious colours, temporary heavy borders (potentially also obnoxious colours). Makes it much easier to see where your objects are specifically, z-index, unintentional overlaps and so on.
dw, i do it too! it seems fairly logical; akin to using silly placeholder strings in programming.
it's actually really nice ngl
I'm in the same boat with a custom theme -- even Librewolf is affected by this crap. Any tips on fixing the search? I don't know what's so hard about a fucking text box that they have to tweak the whole DOM every second update.

Hell yeah
There actually is UX research behind the rounded corner phenomenon. They make people feel like the interface is easier to use, and that feeling actually leads to a feedback loop where people experience less stress, cognitive load, and genuinely have an easier time using the interface.
"There actually is ux research"
No offer of scale, methodology, funding source, sampling parameters? This isn't a very serious conversation, but fwiw ux research is very often crafted with bias towards a specific end.

Submit screenshots of all your *NIX desktops, themes, and nifty configurations, or submit anything else that will make themers happy. Maybe a server running on an Amiga, or a Thinkpad signed by Bjarne Stroustrup? Show the world how pretty your computer can be!

I fucking hate the rounded tabs. Disgusting, space wasting, genericism slop.
