I feel attacked
I feel attacked
I sit like the second picture to keep my back from hurting. Remember kids, just because you CAN lift that person that weighs more than you you SHOULDN'T lift that person
Oh I had consent from all involved except my back lol
Those cameras we planted all over your home are finally starting to lead to some content inspiration π₯³
Not weird at all
hehe
dude I had a random teammate tell me once in a video game that I sounded like I had a stand-up desk
Well was it true?
yes, but I wasn't using it at the time. I was gaming at my Ikea kitchen table desk, with my standup work desk right next to me
That's exactly what my physical therapist just told me
Thatβs just Big Glute propaganda.
tbf, almost every single chair out there is wildly un-ergonomic. Whoever came up with all that 90 degree "perfect posture" bullshit must be exhumed, revived and then executed again. Just get yourself a laptop and work from bed if you can, otherwise, get a recliner that can go back at least 45Β°, find your comfortable angle, then plan the rest of the setup around that.
Running makes my knees angry
come back in 10 years and tell us how it goes.
My back has rarely hurt through my life. Only recently after working as a kitchen aid in my second job have I started feeling any at all.
Now my knees are a different story. I've had bad knees since I was 12.
Physically and possibly also mentally.
I'm basing this on nearly nothing, but I honestly think hanging around on slopes for too long without skiing, snowboarding, or cycling messes with your mind..
Standing desks actually need to go right down so you can kneel, sit cross legged or lie at the keyboard.
Please elaborate
Bold of you to assume I have pants on when writing code.
Yeah, skirts are way better :3
Instructions unclear, am pantsless and my back still hurts.
Do tight belts cause back pain? Iβve never heard that. Also Iβve had some back issues over the years, and no doctor or therapist has ever told me that.
Mainly they tell me to exercise, and give you special exercises to do. Those help.
I was just talking from experience at first. But for example searching I find various articles similar to this one
Increased abdominal pressure can lead to stiffness in the spine and added stress on the back. Tight belts can exacerbate this pressure, resulting in nerve compression, particularly affecting the femoral cutaneous nerve. This compression can cause not only back pain but also abdominal pain and discomfort, affecting digestive health. Evidence suggests that consistently wearing a tight belt can significantly heighten the risk of chronic back pain by disrupting spinal stability and altering abdominal muscle function. Visible signs, such as red marks on the skin after removing a belt, may indicate its tightness and potential for harm. https://wisehealthtips.com/...
Or this
Lower back and spinal pain Research has linked increased pressure in the abdomen with stiffness in the spine and extra stress on your back. So that extra ergonomic help you had from the office chair isnβt doing much if your belt still sits extra tight on your waist. The back pain is a terrible result of nerve compression which takes place when pressure is applied. https://www.askdrmanny.com/...
I take offense at that. My chair doesn't look that comfortable. It also sounds like a NazgΓ»l when I sit on it.
I sit like this and have no pain... I also climb 3 times a week, which, accoiding to my informal survey, helps inmensly with back pain.
I used to sit weirdly too but it was never a problem. I would guess the main problem for people with pain is lack of any exercise. It seems some people don't even walk anymore, they use those electric boards to move. No surprise their body becomes crap.
walking is good but running (upright) is much better. Deadlifts and squats are an absolute hack
I started trying to run now actually. I hate cardio but it looks so good when people can run and it looks effortless. So I have set a 2 month plan for myself now to get on running machine every second day and do 20 minutes of mixed uphill walking and running.
Chat gpt says I will see results in 2 months, so im hoping for it. :) My goal is to be able to run 20 minutes with no walking.
I think you will for sure see results in 2 months! Keep at it :)
I admittedly dont run very often or very well, but I just did a 5k that I only kind of prepped for, I managed to get to a consistent 7 min/km in about a week and a half of consistent attempts, granted I was walking part of that way, but when the 5k rolled around on Saturday, I did manage to do the first like 1.5 km with no walking. Obviously this isn't for everyone, but I found for me that I hate treadmills and I hate just running with no direction (even though I will wander aimlessly for hours when I'm walking) so having a set 1km lap that I could use as a baseline was really beneficial to running, and on the day of the 5k having a massive group was quite motivating to try and keep running rather than walk, regardless of how fast or slow.
Ouch
The problem is the chair.
