It's a joke
Not to leonardo dicaprio
I listened to a podcast about aging and statistics. Your highest survival chance is just when you hit puberty. After that your risk only keeps going up. There's no evolution benefits with age.
What I think is funny (and oddly satisfying mathematically) is that life expectancy goes up as you get older. Like, at birth your life expectancy may be 75, but those who make it to 70 are predicted to live, on average to 80, and if you make it to 80, you are predicted to make it to 85 and so on (I don't remember the exact numbers).
You excluded the part where the guy literally said she was to blame for his poverty... Because DEI I guess. Lmfao two very deranged men.
Also funny how he assumes she’s American. Just did some research 🧐 and she’s Australian. In Australia you get into a uni based on grades, not with a dog and pony show like in the US. So DEI doesn’t even apply.
Merit is the worst kind of DEI.
I had been wondering where the other hand was in that little exchange. Guy should put a monocle on for his fucking bio pic. What an absolute douchebag.
Lmfao two very deranged men.
Well the guy lives on Twitter. It's par for the course.
I'm 39. Partner is 40. Married over 8 years.
More than once we've had a shit day with weather, or something breaking in the house, or dogs being sick, etc etc... And we'll turn to each other and say "Imagine we also had kids?"
Fuck. All. Of. That.
I'm single and I am thinking "I can barely clean after and cook for myself. Imagine if I have kids."
You have The clarity to recognize that you would need to step up if the situation arose.
I think you would do good
Some people just aren't interested in having kids. I've had countless great moments in my life I will always remember fondly. There isn't a single one of those moments I think would've been better if I had a kid lol. I don't think my life would be worse, just different.
There's been tons of moments I've shared with friends who have kids who I've seen and experienced with and literally thought "that must feel amazing".
Then I go home to a quiet house, feed my farm animals, and just... Quit life for a few hours. Nothing else to worry about. I'm sure there is a ton of emotional and rewarding moments having children, but I appreciate the rest of the time where I just don't ever have to worry about them.
Kids are a blessing you don't miss if you don't have them, and can't imagine living without when you do
Imagine thinking of all the money we need to spend on a farm through a single income household while also imagining we needed to spend it on other humans.
We're barely getting by as is. Now add a tiny human or two to that. Everyone is miserable and nothing gets done. Two Neurodivergent humans who barely function on a good day dealing with all the chaos of modern life and financial restrictions... "but think of the good moments".
I have that with my dog. He jumps up on me every day I come home from work.
That dog is going to leave a massive void once it expires by the sound of things.
Imagine thinking of bearing children into a less habitable world because of climate change, and its resulting ecological decline and social and economic strife.
I get what where you are coming from, I'd like to have children some day, but is it fair to have children in a clearly becoming bleak future? Never mind wars and economic recessions, because human society always recover from it. But climate change? It is a different beast than hunger or wars because it renders the entire planet inhospitable. Modern human society is not able to tackle or evolve from the rapid environmental changes caused by us.
The link in the description has the full comment. OP said that they cropped the original image to keep it from being super long.
I actually thought it was just a rhetorical joke setup. Like, there is no other hand.
But no, he actually blames the woman herself.
On the one hand, men in glass houses have no business throwing stones.
He was wrong for that & should've known better.
On the other, he can't post nudes online as his meal ticket the way you can.
Beauty privilege is as real as financial privilege; partly earned, mostly inherited. As an OF creator, your body is capital.
On top of that, for the past several decades, government rigged hiring & university enrollment in your favor, excluding & impoverishing heterosexual white men in particular.
You are, to some extent, to blame for his poverty, & now you're dunking on a homeless man from a position of historically unprecedented privilege because of a mild barb. You reveal more of your inner ugliness than you likely intend.
Lmao “It’s everyone else’s fault I suck!”
Wow. But I can almost guarantee he would unironically wax principled about the importance of personal responsibility.
Sense may be common, but self-awareness seems elusive to many.

tbf university specifically doesn't turn out to actually be financially rewarding today; lots of people have degrees but it doesn't really help them on the labor market.
and i even argue that DEI hiring does not happen so much because it's government mandated but because companies prefer the cheaper labor that they get from women, because they often do comparable labor but get lower wages, so the company saves some money. DEI is just an excuse the company brings forward to justify it in front of their male employees, so the management doesn't get hated for replacing the workforce with other, cheaper workforce. at least that's my guess if i had to make one.
A stone
And broken house glass everywhere. Now you're homeless. Like the dude in the comment chain.
I had a beautiful moving in the bathroom this morning after a few cups of coffee
Bro it’s 2026. Almost every woman with children in my close circle who is of my generation had their first kid in their thirties. Like raising a kid is much easier when you have a stable financial foundation.
I have a friend who had his first at 18, I had my first at 36. We honestly cant work out who had/has it easier.
He had to scrimp and stretch every penny he could get his hands on. But he was young, had energy and his parents were young enough to help alot.
I'm financially secure (enough and for now) but I'm always tired as fuck, short on time and the grandparents probably consume as much time as they save.
not having kids is one of the few things i am utterly, truly grateful for.
#childfree baby! So glad I got a vasectomy.
Older women 28????
Young people seem to think that turning 30 is the same as dying, and I just don't get it
Eh, I'm approaching mid 30s, I kinda feel like I'm dying. I get it.
Cheer up kid, it gets alot worse
Yaaaay...
I'm 26 and feel like I'm dying already, can I just die with a chunk of iron in my lungs and the blood of a fed on my hands already.
I had the same reaction.
Twitter is a deeply cursed place.
They're joking...
The original post was a tongue in cheek joke by the girl, she does not really think 28 is an older woman.
Can people just not parse jokes or read nuance anymore?
You know.. I was going to write a joke that 'you can't fool me, you all only exist on my phone.'
Then I thought there probably will be AI-run forums running just for one user, and responding to their posts and comments with positivity and praise to stroke their egos, and I made myself sigh.
And now you have to read my deluded thoughts - which is dragging me back to reality, yep.. this is the internet.
this is the internet.
Don't catch you clickin now
Literacy has basically never been worse
Completely fair, I didn't consider that.
They don't know what jokes are?
Autistic people sometimes process humor differently than neurotypical people. But autism is a spectrum so to say "all autistic people don't understand jokes" would be an overstatement.
Here is a site if you'd like to read up more on it.
"a joke is to lie for other people's entertainment" - most autists
Yeah, took me awhile to adjust from reddit where the default is sarcasm. You gotta remember where you are, neurodivergency abounds on the Fediverse.
I'm pretty new here personally and I feel way more comfortable in two weeks than I did in 12 years on Reddit.
I feel much the same way and have been here quite a while now. And just in case you haven't read it yet: welcome to Lemmy.
He’s dating a twenty-seven year old right now because his PR team told him to.
early 40s and I don't feel old at all. Yet my younger zoomer coworkers behave like life is over at 24-26. Last time I asked my parents (boomers), they told me they started feeling old in their early 30s. Might be a generational thing.
Yeah idk, I'm 35 and I've felt like a teenager trapped in a slowly decaying meat prison since I was like... 17 maybe? Even as I graduated, got a job, got married, started a family... Every step it was just like "Surely this is where I finally start to feel like a real Grown-Up," and every time it just doesn't change. I still feel like a stupid teenager pretending to be an adult. One that does an alright job pretending mind you, but I still feel like I'm just pretending even after this long.
I finally feel like an adult but I think that's less to do with my age and far more to do with my family, career and financial status. Physically I'm in far better shape now than I was a decade ago, so I've got that going for me at least!
your body is your capital
same vibe as
work will set you free
if her body is her capital, men sell their body to make money through physical means. if anything, men should be more ashamed that they have more in common with whores than camgirls.
(not that anyone should feel ashamed for how they provide for themselves or their family, but people who throw stones should live in glass houses and all that)
He might be homeless, but women are living in his head rent free.
I don't understand this at all, but I think they are two ordinary people trying to diminish each other because of their choices in life, or something. This is why I don't like Twitter, Meta networks and Reddit. Good luck to these people.
Eh, if I was still thinking about dating, I'd maybe date her, even if she is a bit young for an older woman.
That chin of hers is 28 inches long
Aw, you didn’t like the words i used in MurderedByWords?
If a comment got to you here, that’s kinda on you
Your stupid comment is not at any level worthy of “murdered by words”.
Your iq is lower than your shoe size if you thought you were being clever by making a dig at someone’s appearance. It has nothing to do with my feelings.
I suspect.your coochie’s so roomy they’re thinking of turning it into lowincome housing....cheap af, hella spacious, and already has a lot of traffic.
already has a lot of traffic
Unlike your penis. Which is quite obvious with the way you comment.
Stop blaming women for your own problems caused by your own misogynist mindset. You are your own worst enemy, not women.

I kinda feel she described herself as an "older woman" just for the rage bait.
