I have noticed this often when someone gets booed. Pretty obvious when you are there but not on video. As an audio nerd it has me perplexed.
I also think they were ready for that and they masked it live. It doesn't make any sense for the presenters to mention the booing if you can't even hear it in the recording. It must have been very loud.
You can't find anything on youtube these days. Uploads from ordinary people don't appear in search results. They're crowded out by the mainstream. It was called youtube for a reason. It isn't that anymore.
It's all about mic placement. Ive had the good fortune to play sports on live tv in front of large crowds a good amount and it's not uncommon at all for the crowd sound on the broadcast to be way different than in person. That being said, I'd bet there's a different broadcast from a different country where you can totally hear the boos.
Makes me think they're there to scan the entire stadium and upload it to their new tracking database

Considering many of the issues would relate to customs or international travel, then yes there is often a customs/immigration element.
Why? You at in a different country. Why would you send YOUR immigration agents. That's like bringing your own chef to a restaurant you don't own.
Watch some recording of the Olympics when the Nazis were still around and your realize why ICE is there.

Which is why everyone should oppose ATSC 3.0.
With ATSC 3.0, TV stations can literally insert ads overlayed on screen at any point.
They can use your tv's smart functions to literally track your behavior.
They can refuse to allow you to record tv stations entirely, or just kndividual shows.
They can delete shows without your consent. They can block you from watching shows. They can make OTA tv programing pay per view.
I'm not saying they ARE doing this, or are planning it, but they CAN. And if capitalism has taught me anything it's "fuck you, pay us, and then pay us again, and fuck you again".

I always have my "smart" TV disconnected from internet, and I run my media viewing through the steam deck in desktop mode, but any Linux computer will work just as fine. Then I employ some high sea villainy and boom, set to coast.
I bought lifetime subscription 10+ years ago. It still updates the guide, but they stopped selling hardware.

Yep! I got a nice one. It's 10+ years old now, but I got a new bulb in the box, waiting for my current bulb (which IS dying) to finally go.
Love it. It even does 3D and came with 2 pairs of glasses.
Problem is that fair use doesn't prevent a dmca takedown. It doesn't really matter until you go to court and prove it, unfortunately. These takedowns are functioning exactly as designed, allowing for easy corporate censorship with minimal repercussions for abuse.

In Canada we don't censor that sort of stuff so watching the CBC stream was funny. All applause then the couch pest showed up and the entire stadium mood changed. Americans truly don't realize they are jokes outside of their country.

NBC are the only broadcaster to take their own full camera setup so they can focus on American competitors. They don’t have quite have the Olympic spirit.
They’re there to assist policing American fans, not to protect officials.
