I can start. I spent a few days with friends. We didn't do anything that special but it's good to catch up and soak up some positivity from them.
What's the best thing that happened to you this week?

Fuck yeah!
That's really wholesome π₯Ή. Made my day.π
My wife and I had been trying for a child. Then she left me 2 weeks ago.
The best thing that happened to me this week was finding out she's not pregnant.
Also, instead of despair or grief over the separation, literally all I feel is relief.
It hit me like a semi truck, cause shit went sideways out of nowhere within 2 weeks.
But she's moved out without a fuss, our finances are separate, and I kept the cats.
Still kind of numb, but I also massively enjoy the quiet and relaxation right now.
The marriage was exciting, but it was also a constant whirlwind.
Thats wild, from married to moved out that fast. I'm sorry things turned out that way. I went through a shockingly similar experience last year, so I know how difficult that can be. Grief comes in waves and out of nowhere sometimes. Silver linings like kitties and quiet nights are the little things that can help a lot, I found.Β
I ate a slice of $2.50 birthday cake. My life is really terrible right now.
Edit: birthday cake is cake with sprinkles baked into it. It's not my birthday.
Not my birthday. It's the type of cake. White cake with sprinkles baked into it.
Happy birthday! It's sad to hear that life's been terrible right now. It'll only get betterπ€

I upvote every owl picture I see.
That's awesome! And a huge relief I'm sure.
Yeah, I understand how cool this is.
Last year we saw a chopper picking up a cable load in Doon Doon. 30m from us.
I was in the roadhouse dunny at the time, and said 'WTF is that?'.
Got a cool video too.
Maybe get a still from your video and make him a shirt from it, so he can explain to everybody how awesome it was. π
Yeah, the week is looking better. Had a couple scrambled eggs this morning for breakfast and a baked potato for lunch.
If it all goes well, I can be back to eating the unhealthy crap I usually eat tomorrow π
Today is the 12th anniversary of the day I was physically disabled by a fuckwit driver while I was riding a bicycle to work. It is the first year in several where I do not feel existential or super depressed. I have plenty of reason to be, but all of it is deflected at the moment.
That's a really nice twist :)
That's great to hear! wishing her a quick recovery π
Indeed. Great to hear that! π
Had a relatively quick morning with my toddler on Monday, so decided I could afford to be 10 minutes late getting into work and had a special breakfast with her at a new little bakery/deli/breakfast-and-lunch spot that opened up nearby.
No idea if she'll remember it, but I know I cherish little moments like that from my childhood so I do what I can to make them for her.
One of the things I didn't really expect with having a kid is that even without going out of my way to make special memories there are small wonderful moments almost every day.
My MIL's surgery went well and she's much more lively and relaxed now, thank God.
Congratulations! Thats a milestone all the same! Just remember, way less people are fit than you think. Probably the vast majority of people couldnt do what you just did! Be proud! Youre kicking butt on your fitness journey!!Β
Two paid snow days in a row!
my wife just made a great jumbalya. Its kinda funny as is smell like an old ashtray so she was worried it was ruined but the taste and texture is great.
Nothing crazy, but my dog fractured a tooth and I was very worried he would either have to have it pulled or have a big ugly titanium crown put on, at great expense. He went to the vet today for it and it turns out the fracture wasn't as bad as I thought. No root canal and crown necessary. They shaved down the sharp parts, sealed it with resin and he's good to go now! I'm unbelievably relieved and it cost less than expected. Easily the best thing that's happened this week.
And tomorrow I'm going camping with my dog and some friends too! That should be a fun time. It's unseasonably warm and while I wish it were cold, I'm going to enjoy the nice weather while we have it!
I trapped a mouse in my trash can and killed it. And then I fed the dead mouse to a feral cat that sometimes lives in my basement.
lol. Good for the feral cat and you I guess.
sometimes now
Tends to spend the winter in there, when she's able to sneak in.
I met my newborn nephew
Profit splits from the corp I work at dropped.
Basically an extra monthly wage that I don't have to put into rent.
Hung out with friends, and got out of a bad group project for a class and now I get to do my own project, which will be a lot of work but it's gonna be fun and its better than having to keep working with the team
just got a nice nap for about 30 minutes before my kids woke me up.
I got a couple thou in the mail from Starbucks as restitution for violating my rights as a worker. For once in my life the law actually protected me to some degree so thats pretty nice
I went to Costco and got 7 shirts and paid only $38ish total.
Plus $3.05 for a giant slice of pepperoni and a pop.
Downside: I didn't get the pants I was hoping to find. But oh well.
I took so e light electrical work as a solo handyman and didn't embarrass myself fucking anything up. I'm looking for a steady job in the field, so it felt good.
Woke up next to my wife.
Tbh, I do that a lot but it's still the best!
The best thing... depending on how I ask I guess. Either the day trip I made to two nearby towns (one of which is a rather well-known tourist spot) on Sunday despite the rainy weather, or the fact that weather rose to 20 C yesterday & was sunny so I made a nice stroll in the city
I got out of work at 11 AM on Tuesday instead of the normal 2 PM.

I'm a happily divorced dad. Had a lovely evening with my teenage daughter yesterday. We played cards, chess and some other cards game while drinking tea and chatting a lot. She won each game fair and square. After that great time I told her how much I value these moments, and she answered in the same way.
