I mean of course everything is futile? Do you know how big the universe is? How long eternity is? If you wrote out the number years it will be from the big band until the heat death of the universe, you'd fill whole libraries with endless books crammed full of zeroes.
The secret is to shrug, give up, have some pizza, plod along until it's finally over, and hope that death is oblivion and not some unending afterlife.
