I got a floral smelling perfume that was labelled "for men". Really liked it. But got told a bunch of times "someone's wearing a lovely women's perfume". Maybe I just want to smell like flowers too goddamnit.

I just straight up started wearing women's perfume. I really like sweet and powdery smells, as well as vanilla notes. You don't really get stuff like that 'for men', but their stupid labels can't stop me.
Nice.
...just make your own at that point and save money? You should not be suffering spending extra on unscented stuff. That's like the easy ass default. You can buy unscented soap in bulk for cheap as hell.
And haven't tried this, but: https://cadryskitchen.com/...
Like baking soda, cornstarch, and coconut oil might be all you need for an unscented deodorant
sadly i am a stinky/sweaty lady and require antiperspirant, not just deodorant. which I did actually attempt to make myself once. i bought aluminum chlorohydrate powder and then proceeded to not make the time/effort to make an antiperspirant gel/spray out of it for about 5 years before giving up, admitting to myself it was an abandoned project, and tossing it along with components for several other abandoned projects in a pre-move cleanup ๐
fortunately I'm actually good on soap for now between Kirk's Coco Castille unscented and my hipster friend's homemade unscented olive oil soap :]
shampoo and conditioner have been difficult. I like the CeraVe ones I currently use but have to decide if I'm satisfied with their performance enough to justify the price. ๐ฌ though if I do decide that I'll likely get them online for cheaper next time I run out
it is a big dumb scam that unscented things usually cost way more than scented.
It's often harder to make "unscented" stuff because it means that none of the ingredients can leave a noticeable odor. Customers expect "no scent" not "smells like baking soda and tallow but not added fragrances".
I believe that, often, "unscented" things have stuff added to mask smells and "fragrance free" is the one that has this issue, but I don't think these phrases are actually regulated like "organic"
You might want to look up some high end perfumes; they often sell anti=perspirants with the same scent.
Check the organic/natural isle of your grocery store and look for the Potassium Alum based deodorant. They look like a block of crystal. They're natural and non-aluminum. They also come in unscented variants. Best of all, they're cheap.
I have one, they're super great astringents for stopping bleeding of small cuts :D sadly they're not very effective on my level of sweat/stink ๐ญ though they are better than nothing so I use mine as a backup when I've run out of aluminum chlorohydtate antiperspirant. They are indeed cheap if you know where to look, and I've never had one run out (I just drop them and they break ๐)
of note, potassium alum / any alum mineral does actually contain aluminum ions by definition. they are known to be non-irritating to some people who have a reaction to more mainstream antiperspirant ingredients (e.g. aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum chloride) hence their popularity as an alternative
Smells like https://youtu.be/MhQ5678cJU8
Jet fuel, burst eardrums, and wasteful spending.
Jet fuel and hydraulic oil, mostly.
Not been in an F-16, but C-130s have a distinctive smell to them.
Tactical body wash with essence of slaughterhouse, IPAs at the axe throwing place, and gym floor mats covered in sweat from the bois.
My deodorant apparently smells of "dry impact" and I guess, the color red...?
As in, they have another deodorant in the shops of the same brand, identical description on the label, except it uses blue as the highlight color and it says "dry active" instead.
Like, those pictures are way too concrete in the meme. I just get to smell like concepts.
My deodorant apparently smells of "dry impact" and I guess, the color red...?
Mine smells of dry impact and the colors blue AND red!
It basically smells like the absence of me sweating the moment I so much as IMAGINE being hot ๐คท๐ป
Apparently, women are supposed to smell like things while men are supposed to smell like concepts.
I AM THE CONCEPT OF TIME
You can also smell like Greek mythology (I got 'Heroic' and 'Colossus' lol)
Im trying not to smell like the dark abyss of eternal existental crissis. That is why I need deoderant to begin with. I just dont know why so many of them smell like desperate raging hormone.
I realised earlier today that my shower gel has a stylised snail on it. Like...that's a snail, right? Leaving a snail trail of hydration across my body.

The gender product grift is laughable. And yet people eat it up. I couldnโt believe the first time I saw these at almost 2x markup of regular unscented baby wipes:

Just use a bidet
Donโt take my rabid shark deodorant away from me.
Fun fact: sharks can't get rabies. Rabies only affects mammals.
Could be in theory, I suppose. Particularly with predatory whales like orcas. If they scavenged a rabies-infected corpse that washed out to sea, they could be infected.
I just get whatever is on sale that has an effective track record on my BO. Work with fluids and sweat all day so I can smell like an airplane or a shark or flower as long as I donโt smell like body funk Iโm happy.
For some reason most stores here stock several types of Old Spice apart from the original, which is the one I like most :(
At ยฃ2/litre that is still cheaper than most deodorant options tbh
I buy manly vanilla or citrus deodorant because I am a manly man.
I stopped in a Walgreens the other week on a trip to vegas to get some spray-on deodorant. They had a dozen womens options, mens had 6 versions of degree, all locked inside containers so you couldn't smell any. I ended up going with 'white'. I would have loved some jet fuel options....
For me it's more like "which one of these is least likely to give me a rash"
Game changer for me. I always thought it was some hippy woowoo nonsense, but it actually works for me, and I'm physically active at work and sweat a lot. One stick lasts me for more than a year of daily use and I don't smell like deodorant.
It's not an antiperspirant, however, so it's not much help if you are worried about pit stains.
unscented deoderant? Or you could use straight alcohol and water
wtf is that fruit with tons of seeds?
Oh yeah. We need a list of fruit with more seeds than is worth the trouble of eating it, like pomegranate, yuzu, papaya, etc
To be fair I need everything on that bottom picture to overpower my armpit sweat ๐
I just look for solid gel over liquids or pastes and deodorant over antiperspirant, smell a few and go with what smells least offensive. Couldn't tell you what any of them are called because even when they are supposed to smell like an actual smell they rarely actually smell like that thing, really.
Antiperspirant tends to be the stuff that contains concerning heavy metals. You're supposed to be able to sweat, it's just the stinky part that sucks haha.
Oh I still sweat. So don't worry about that. Using deodorant I can still smell like a boar pen within an hour after use. Even if I'm just sitting at a desk with my eyes closed.
You want me to use all the heavy metal antiperspirant I got.
