Games with singleplayer campaigns that let me fight/kill nazis?

Been on a fun little kick playing the Sniper Elite series and the Wolfenstein series and want some suggestions for what can replace it once I run out of campaign missions to do in those games.
While I would love to replay the campaign missions of COD, I ain't paying like $30-60 for a two decade plus old game from EA. While I do prefer shooting nazi nazis, I don't mind suggestions that have you shooting fascists in general.
Not interested in debating politics, just wanna shoot nazis.

Hard agree, but there are oftentimes apologists who are summoned from these posts or the people who make the argument that idolizing violence against anyone is abhorrent (nazis have families too!! etc etc), which to an extent I can agree with. However I have two history degrees which has given me insight on many topics, one being that non-violent resistance to true tyranny is a borderline myth. I subscribe to the paradox of tolerance .
Good news is fediverse has zero tolerance for that bullshit.
I'm proud to say that Lemmy largely does not subscribe to the modern media "all violence is bad" mentality. Everyone with a functional brain knows that's bullshit. Even the people who supposedly agree with that idea support the police's use of violence sometimes. The monopoly of violence by the state is just a useful thing they push to keep people in line, and it's mostly not a thing here.

Wolfenstein the New order was also good.
I think first and foremost that was to be a foil to explain why the Nazis, who were historically irl incompetent, and canonically just as incompetent in game, were able to make such technology. Kinda the same logic between making jewish actors play nazis in movies, its so real nazis IRL cannot as easily idolize them. I think the whole Jewish magi-tech stuff was a bit much too, but I let it slide because it warms my heart how much it probably pisses off irl Nazis.

The Saboteur is about an Irishmen killing nazi's in France. Older game but was overall fun. Its like a PS3 era free-roam game.
Played it on Xbox 360 recently after it was mentioned in a similar thread. I concur about the story (and characters, mission design) but it's fun enough in short bursts of 1-2 hours - if you go into it expecting a b-movie setting.
I did enjoy climbing buildings and silently killing Nazis. The world is surprisingly detailed, even beautiful in places. Made me suspect a lot more content/missions might have been planned but were scrapped.
What bothered me most (being prepared for the typical stuff this 'historical setting' is usually plagued by and the games of the time [gender stereotypes etc.]) was the Soundtrack - it's way too short for such a long game and doesn't fit the era.
This is exactly how I feel about the game. I recommend it every chance I get. It's goofy and it has it's quirks but there's just something so satisfying about slowly dismantling infrastructure in the occupied areas until colour returns to the map. I actually started a new play through yesterday.
You didn't say "shoot Nazis (or fascists)" in shooter games specifically, so I'm going to interpret your question broadly.
In BioShock Infinite (story-heavy shooter game with some RPG elements), the main villain is some turbo-racist Nazi who runs his own "utopia." The prior releases in the series have you facing objectivist villains, which I guess is Nazi-adjacent.
In the Jagged Alliance series (a turn-based strategy game), you control a small band of mercenaries fighting a totalitarian dictator. JA2 is a classic, though almost 30 years old by now. JA3 (released in 2023) is a more modern version and a worthy successor.
Hearts of Iron IV is a strategy game where you can literally fight the Nazis, though much of its dubious player base does the opposite. You won't literally do the shooting though.
In Skyrim (which I'm guessing you've played already), there is a civil war between two factions that are basically lawful evil Nazis and chaotic evil Nazis. Though Skyrim is thin on story, at least you can decide to kill (almost) everyone.
One of the factions in Fallout: New Vegas (one of the best first-person shooter RPG's of all time) consists of slave-driving Nazis (as much inspired by ancient Romans as the actual Nazis) called "Caesar's Legion." You can just go to their camp and kill everyone, including "Caesar."
While I did have shooters in mind, I did leave it open for interpretation for any genre of game!
Never heard of the Jagged Alliance series before, but I do enjoy my turn based games. I struggle with RTS games, I like to take my time and be methodical. It's on sale right now for quite a bit so I will consider this, seems similar to XCOM.
All the other games I've played before but are excellent suggestions. HOI4 has become too feature bloated imo, but it is great fun playing as Canada and building the most specialized shock troops of the allies and just shredding holes into the German front lines for the american and british troops to pour though.
In the spirit of the broad interpretation, I think an argument could be made for This War of Mine, as a resistance against fascism in the idea of surviving as ordinary citizens at all costs. But that is more so anti-war than particularly anti-fascism, although the two often go hand in hand of course.
JA2 is indeed similar to XCOM in terms of gameplay. If you can live with the very dated graphics, the gameplay still holds up and is even better than XCOM in my opinion. There are some recent mods and patches to fix some bugs and keep the game playable on modern machines.
I've actually never played HOI4, the setting just doesn't appeal to me, maybe it just hits too close to home. In terms of Paradox games I prefer CK3, though that game isn't without its flaws.
If you do decide to try Jagged Alliance 2, get the 1.13 mod. It fixes a lot of things and adds new items and features. I still play it very often.

It's straight up killing Nazis for about 30 hours of fun SP campaign. You play as a french resistance fighter in paris during WWII. Race cars, make wildly inappropriate innuendos, kill Nazi, rinse and repeat. Has an interesting wanted level mechanic and a stealth system with disguises. Had a few weird bugs but nothing game breaking. 8.5 / 10.
Also the last game of the legendary Pandemic Studios. It would really deserve a sequel or even a remaster.
If you emulate the original bionic commando, you get to blow up Hitler's preserved head in gory detail

India Jones and the Great Circle - I don't have the hardware to play it, but I have read great things (including a pretty good story if you like the old movies.).

I love Indiana Jones as a franchise, concept, and the look of this video game but even at 40% off it'll be $60+ CAD which is a tough sell for one game. Base price its $90 CAD, which is more like $100+ after taxes. I'll definitely play it eventually, but I think ill be playing the waiting game for a super steep discount.

Far Cry 6
IMO, the ultimate 'killing fascists for catharsis' game. Set in totally-not-Cuba, where a psuedo-communist revolution took place in 1967, leading to a blockade that cut the island off from the rest of the world, but eventually the descendant of one of the pre-revolution leaders was elected president and has steered the country in a full-on fascist direction, backed by foreign investment. You play as a refugee who turns into a badass guerilla insurgent when your escape plan goes bust. And the ultimate aim is to not only kill lots and lots of fascists (and break their stuff, take over their bases), but eventually to kill El Presidente and topple the entire regime. Besides the rank-and-file soldados of the fascist regime, it gives you some very hateable fascist leaders who you'll (for the most part) eventually get to kill in pretty satisfying ways. Oh, and spoiler: ::: spoiler spoiler you even get to kill a foreign billionaire who's been backing the regime! :::
Plus, the whole thing is done well, with gorgeous graphics, a huge and well-detailed open world map, and pretty decent story for the most part. (Only thing that really annoys me about it is that it's autosave-only, and the autosave can be finicky to trigger sometimes.)
Would definitely recommend; it's one of my favorite games ever. And it's exactly what you're asking for!

"cut a promo" is pro wrestling terminology for "make a speech about how you are going to defeat someone (while also summarizing the soap opera plot that got you here and why the audience gives a shit and so on)"
in all of the commercials the guy is like "I, Giancarlo Esposito, am too powerful for you, the player. You, the player, suck at video games and I, Giancarlo Esposito, will win the video game as an NPC in the game" even though he was nominally in character, and it was very funny

Even by the standards of the time, it's not very good. If you already have it, then try it. Otherwise, it's cheap on GoG and I would still wait for a sale.

Interesting note: Zombie Army is actually a spinoff series from the Sniper Elite franchise. It was originally called Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, but they dropped the lengthy title when the third Zombie Army game released. There are 4 of them out now.
Sniper Elite focuses on a sniper behind enemy lines during WWII. Despite creating unique stories and events for you to play, its overall setting is somewhat accurate to real life history.
Zombie Army, however, is an alternate history where Hitler revived his fallen Nazis as zombies, as a final solution when he knew he was losing the war. These are supernatural zombies, as real-life this Hitler was obsessed with the occult. No virus plague zombies here.
The two game franchises don't have much to do with each other, but they started out under the same franchise title.

The Saboteur is fairly old at this point, but still holds up gameplay-wise.

There is the Company of Heroes games and the Commandos series.
It's not first person, but company of heroes is definitely a delight! Nothing will make you feel more like you're actually winning the war against Hitler than that game. It feels like being a colonel on the set of Band of Brothers.

Farcry 6 is neat, but I like Farcry 5 for this! Curbstomp fundamentalist religious cultists with redneck accents, reclaim the beauty of rural America! Take a break to fish in the majestic waterways of Montana, then go carpet bomb yall'qaeda camps while listening to some chill country/folk! Take a second to admire the breathtaking mountain scenery before hitting the detonator on a mountain of explosives and demolish a hideous fascist monument while parachuting away to safety! This game has ALL the catharsis for you 🤠
Far Cry 6, already mentioned but it’s great taking down fascists in very bloody ways. Some of the goofiest and most fun I’ve had with vehicles are the things the Yarans cobble together, like a dune buggy that also flies.

I’d definitely recommend Mouse, P.I. . They don’t wear swastikas on their sleeve, but for how silly the game is they do take steps to show just how organized the Big Mouse Party is about fascism and oppressing minorities. Some of the first villains of the game are an army of cops that happily kidnaps shrews - “lesser” mice - into human trafficking. And you get to melt them with an acid gun.

Fuck that does look about what I'm looking for. I really like the alt-history stuff like Wolfenstein where the nazis have "won" but there are still people out there fighting the good fight even in the face of overwhelming tyranny. Reminds me of some advice my uncle used to give me, it doesn't if you won it matters most that you fought back.

Redeem your little "no physical games" thing by releasing Infamous on PC.
It's definitely a bit old and janky by today's standards, and I can't say it'd hold up well, but Homefront: The Revolution is a decent romp against Nazi-esque NK takeover. Takes place in a pseudo-Philadelphia warzone and has some cool features. Even if it ends up not clicking with you, at least stick around until you can play Timesplitters 2 on the arcade cabinet.
Commandos 2/3 are exquisite for shooting nazis if you don't mind the lack of first person perspective

Easy Red II is both cheap, fun and easy to play.
Plus it has vehicles.
What I mostly enjoy is that it takes me a couple of minutes to start playing and it delivers right away.
The cons are mostly the AI is outdated-ish. There's a mod that improves it though and the devs are constantly adding new stuff.
I'll second this, Easy Red II is a lot of fun and there's a huge variety of different theatres, many which don't get represented often. As stated, updates are regular and genuinely improve the game a lot.
It's my go-to game to just fire up and start shooting stuff.
This looks like a late 2000s game if it were made today, and I mean that as a compliment. I like that they seem to include some aspects of WW2 that are relatively obscure to larger popular media, like the Sino-Japanese war, the German invasion of Greece, and Final days of the German forces in Tunisia.
The cheap price tag definitely makes this a easy pill to swallow too, $10 CAD and not even on sale. Will definitely consider this as a nostalgic medal of honor allied assault spiritual successor

I think the original Red Faction comes close - bad guys are a big corrupt corporation. You are part of a worker revolt iirc. Not sure about the other Red Faction games.
I spent so much time playing MoH: Frontline as a kid. Achievements didn't exist but it gave you stats at the end of each mission and I replayed the levels over and over until I killed every nazi with only groin shots.
It's just a level pack for Sniper Elite 5 repackaged as a new game. They didn't introduce a single new feature, and the levels are mostly just reused assets from 5 with new layouts.
And even 5 struggled to stand out from 4.
I actually think it's a series that could use a refresh. Maybe a time jump to a different war or a move to a different theatre/front.
Or go full alt history and have us killing Nazis in other time periods. And not just Cold War era or modern Nazi killing: Sci-fi Nazi killing. Or Western!
Yeah im playing it right now and on one hand it feels like I got more Sniper Elite 5. On the other hand, I paid $60 for what feels like just Sniper Elite 5 again. Thankfully I got 5 when it was during the steep discount sale so im kinda averaging like $23 per game between 4, 5, and Resistance. Considering how many hours I've gotten out of them I cant be too upset
Kind of a problem how nazis in WW2 games are quite different from the wannabe-fascists and fascists of today. You mostly kill drafted soldiers in those games, and if you think about it too much, those are probably the people who least deserve their gruesome deaths.
Makes it not work for me as a safety valve.

Classified: France '44 is a tactical turn-based game where you play with allied paratroopers and French resistance to cause mayham in France before the landings of D-day. Basically XCOM but WW2. It's very well done, and you get to shoot a lot of nazis!
If you're not looking for first person games try Commandos behind enemy lines and it's slightly less good expansion Commandos beyond the call of duty which are currently 50% off on gog for the next week under the commandos ammo pack title. More fun to get in there with the knife or blow then up with explosives.
Fallout 2, Fallout 3, and Fallout NV the Nazis may have a different coat of paint but a fascist is a fascist regardless of what face they wear. Weirdly doesn't apply to Fallout 1 since I think Unity would fall under weird form of Authoritarian Transhuman Collectivism, fuck I've started talking theory. In summary kill Enclave and Blòt the Romaboo larpers!

The enclave as a concept of just fascinating. That is another one of my alt-hist (and occasionally irl too) fascinations, is old-government remnants and what do they do? FEDRA in The Last of Us is another one, technically the last remnant of the old USA order, but functionally has degenerated into just another authoritarian faction in the apocalypse. Arguably the Brotherhood of Steel counts too, remnant of the old world US military.
As for IRL, Taiwan is a remnant of the old chinese government before the communists took the mainland, and Belarus actually has 3 governments right now -- the one currently in power , functionally a puppet to Putin/Russia, the transitional government formed abroad in 2022 hoping to replace the puppet government once given the chance, and hosted in Ottawa for over 100 YEARS is the original exiled government of Belarus from the Communist revolution in the 1910s.
Also I think there's still some fun and explore with them, namely with a good/ morally dubious variant. In every game we've seen them in it's quite obvious that the base level personnel have no clue what the Enclave is actually doing, so have fun with that make a faction of these base level guys who survived while the higher ups died make it the battle of Adams AFB from fallout 3. It'd be fun to see them being minutemen like or something because they legit believe in the ideals of Americans without any of the bad because they weren't poisoned enough by propaganda and exposure to the wasteland helped them chill out.
But yeah they are also a really fun exploration of a remnant government still kicking around. Some other ones for you to look up would be Mount Athos and the empire of Trebizond, both were Eastern Roman remnants with Mount Athos technically still existing.
The OG DOOM, and the Brutal DOOM campaign has reworked secret levels with tanks and the like.
I get it. I don't get to play much anymore, but killing Nazis was always my favorite. I was big into the early COD and MOH stuff.
I have sniper elite 5, is 4 worth a replay? I don't remember it.
Less weapon modification I think, but largely the same game really. I'd say its worth a replay. I think 4 has more memorable levels than 5, but 5 if a more polished experience. Lots of levels I wanted to replay in 5, but realized "oh shit that was in 4 not 5".
Definitely recommend sniper elite 4, 5 and resistance when on sale. They're functionally the same game for the most part but damn if its not a winning formula.

I would recommend just brutally murdering your way through the rainbow of right wing nutjobs in MANHUNT. It does have guns, but ammo is sparse, it's not a shooter, at first.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes to mind, the first few CoD, and at least the first MoH. Gearbox made a quite good Brothers in Arms game.
