A bit over a month ago, a user posted in !main@sh.itjust.works to propose defederating from maga.place. That post was followed by a discussion in !agora@sh.itjust.works a week ago, which seems to have gained some traction. In response, we're going to hold a vote on the matter. Voting will be open for one week, through Friday, November 7.

I haven't experienced any issues from their users, nor have I seen any evidence of their users causing problems. IMO, defederation should only happen if working w/ their admins to deal with their users who cause problems doesn't work, not because we disagree with content on their instance.

I’ve seen really good “no” positions and I think they have some great reasoning even though they’re against the MAGA gang. Thank you to those who are thinking logically and of others. My vote is more emotional due to I just can’t weigh out the options anymore and I’m just done with it all.
